What is Library On?

What is LibraryOn?

England’s network of 152 library services sits at the heart of communities across the country – each with their own on-site and digital offers. LibraryOn aims to transform how people can engage these libraries, no matter where they are.

LibraryOn will offer a single national home for a range of digital resources that all libraries and library users can access. It will celebrate the incredible range of services they offer, as well as link to collections held locally and in libraries around the world.

Currently in a beta phase, it offers a library users with an easy way to find their local library service. The long-term ambition for LibraryOn is to help promote the visibility of local libraries to a national and even international audience. Libraries across the country host an incredible wealth of digital information and collections – the LibraryOn website will ensure that more people, in more places can benefit.

What's Next?

What’s next?

LibraryOn will continue to draw on feedback during the beta testing phase to support its development. The ambition is to work towards a full launch that will empower libraries to share their wealth of services and for library users to have a simple point of access to benefit from those services.
