Equality, Diversity and Inclusion: A Data Report, 2020-2021

Each year, we measure our progress by collecting, analysing and reporting on data relating to equality and diversity of the work, organisations and projects that we fund.

This year’s report covers 2020/21 - the first year of the Covid-19 pandemic. Due to the impact of the pandemic on the creative and cultural sector and challenges reporting data as a result, this year’s data cannot be compared to the past.

This report features data on:

• The workforce of National Portfolio Organisations (NPOs), including the diversity of people at different job levels and employees’ socio-economic background
• The diversity of applicants to the Emergency Response Funds and Culture Recovery Fund
• The diversity of applicants to National Lottery Project Grants and Developing Your Creative Practice
• Audience data from NPOs
• The diversity of the Arts Council’s workforce, leadership and National and Area Councils. This includes data on our gender and ethnicity pay gaps.
