Why do Music Hubs need to form new partnerships?

Why do Music Hubs need to form new partnerships?

As part of The power of music to change lives: a national plan for music education, the Department for Education and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport announced the intention for Music Hubs to become more strategic, working across new, larger geographic areas.

Learn how new Music Hubs aim to improve outcomes for children and young people >

To help achieve these ambitions, Arts Council England is leading an Investment Programme on behalf of the Department for Education to appoint new Hub Lead Organisations. Each Hub Lead Organisation will coordinate music education delivery throughout their Music Hub area. These new Hub Lead Organisations will work with a wide range of delivery partners, drawing on partner organisations’ knowledge and experience to ensure every child and young person in that area has access to high-quality music education.

Applicants to the Music Hub Investment Programme won’t need to have confirmed partnerships in order to apply, but we will ask about their proposed partnership arrangements for their Music Hub. Organisations interested in being part of a new Music Hub might wish to start speaking with other organisations in their area to consider how they could work together to deliver the best outcomes for children and young people.
