Social media is a great way to let the public know about the difference creativity and culture is able to make in all our lives thanks to public funding. Use your channels to show how public funding enables your work and positively impacts the lives of your audience and your local community.

We know every organisation is different – you might have an award-winning social media team working their magic. But if you don’t, or you’re new to social media, you might find the following information helpful!

Facebook is a great way to engage with a community and keep people up to date with your events. You could also join local community groups to find out what’s top of your audiences’ minds.

Twitter is a platform for conversations, news and stories. It mainly helps you reach people aged 25-34.

TikTok is a new and exciting video platform, well known for reaching a younger audience and racking up thousands of views by using trending sounds, effects and topics. The platform is a great place to share stories on development and empowering stories that can inspire the sector.

LinkedIn is where you can speak to your stakeholders and local decision makers, as well as finding candidates for your latest job vacancy. You might want to share data and evidence of your impact on this channel.

Snapchat allows you to share short, temporary stories to create fun, brief and engaging content with your followers, who tend to be a younger audience.
