Cultural Gifts Scheme & Acceptance in Lieu Annual Report 2019/20

We have published the 2019/20 Cultural Gifts Scheme and Acceptance in Lieu annual report which shows that in the last year, 52 cases – spanning a vast range of works of art and other cultural objects worth nearly £65 million – were accepted for the nation under the government’s Cultural Gifts Scheme and Acceptance in Lieu Scheme. Objects accepted through these schemes are allocated to public collections throughout the UK and are available for everyone to engage with and enjoy.

Errata

An updated report was published at 12pm on 23rd December 2020 making the following corrections that were noted after publication:  

1. Pages 3, 18 and 85. The title of Case 6 has been changed from ‘The Barney Bubbles archive’ to ‘Barney Bubbles: The Belinda Syme Archive’.  
2. Pages 47 and 81. The credit line provided for the images was erroneous. The images have now been correctly attributed to the Fitzwilliam.
