You might be interested in marketing, customer service, grant management, finance or HR - we have apprenticeships across our team to suit people with different skills, interests and career aspirations.

Our apprenticeships are available across England - working out of our head office in Manchester, our office in London and seven smaller area offices around the country.

1. Study for a recognised qualification

We have apprenticeship roles across our organisation, with the opportunity to study for an official qualification - all funded by Arts Council England.

2. Work with experienced and passionate colleagues

You’ll be supported by colleagues with extensive experience, who are passionate about the work they do. They’ll teach you the hands-on skills you need to be successful - at the Arts Council and elsewhere.

3. Gain experience in the arts and culture sector

We work with organisations and individuals across the arts, museums and libraries – from theatre to digital art, reading to dance, music to literature, crafts to collections. An apprenticeship at the Arts Council will give you unique experience to continue a career in this vibrant sector.

4. Get excellent learning and development opportunities

We’re one of only 3% of organisations in the UK to have been awarded Investors in People gold. We invest in the growth and development of all our staff, including professional qualifications, in-house and external training courses, conferences, e-learning and more. We encourage individuals and teams to keep learning and developing, with flexible opportunities for staff at all levels.

5. Celebrate diversity

We’re committed to attracting and recruiting a diverse range of people - we welcome applications from all candidates that meet the criteria for the role. We’re also a Disability Confident employer.

6. Be rewarded well

All our apprentices are paid competitive salaries that reflect the work you do. They’re also eligible for all the same benefits as other Arts Council employees, including generous annual leave, shopping discounts, travel loans, a pension scheme and childcare vouchers.

Meet our team: Sophie Baker, Business Admin Apprentice

By Arts Council England, 11 February 2021

Sophie Baker is one of our Apprentices – she started her role in April 2020, just after lockdown began, and so joined the organisation remotely. She shares why she wanted to apply for an apprenticeship, what she’s learnt so far, and how 2020 has made her value her own creative and cultural memories.
