Cllr Richard Burton
Cllr Burton is the Chair of the East Riding of Yorkshire Council's Greater Prosperity Overview and Scrutiny Committee which as well as covering economic development in both the towns and rural areas of the East Riding also covers the Arts, Museums and Libraries. Until recently he was also the Chair of the Bridlington and Driffield Local Action Team. He is involved with community engagement and multi-agency working and has been very successful in empowering young people. He is also a practising fine art artist who owns and runs a teaching centre on the Yorkshire Coast. Through his experience in private business he is able to appreciate the value of the arts while understanding the financial and business challenges they face.
