Liz Roberts

Liz Roberts

Liz retired as National Trust's Director West Midlands in July 2010. During nine years in that role she led a drive to reach new audiences and broaden the profile of volunteers, staff and committees to reflect the diversity of the West Midlands. She fostered partnerships with arts organisations to bring special places alive through live performances and installations. Liz joined National Trust staff in Cornwall 24 years ago after a career as a journalist on local newspapers and several years as a writer, street theatre performer and stand up comedian. As her lifelong passion for the arts was sparked by a school visit to the Royal Ballet when she was eight, she has always found ways to open up opportunities for children to experience brilliance. She lives in South Shropshire and supports work to bring the arts to rural audiences.
