Jane Drabble OBE

Jane is a Chair of Bath Festivals, and a Board member of the Royal Shakespeare Company.  She has been a Director of Birmingham Royal Ballet, and a Governor of the Royal Ballet Companies. 

At both the RSC and BRB she has been closely involved in the companies' education work.   She chaired the Arts Award Partnership Board for Arts Council England and Trinity Guildhall, and the PAE back group, which brought together trustees of performing arts companies to focus on their companies' educational activities. 

She has been a member of the Capability Review Team for the Cabinet Office and has conducted Capability Reviews of the Department for Children, Schools and Families, and the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills. She was also a member of the national Learning and Skills Council, one of HM Commissioners for Judicial Appointments, and chair of the charity Mental Health Media.

Jane worked at the BBC for 31 years.  For five years until her retirement in 1999 she was Director of Education, and a member of the Board of Management.  She was awarded an OBE in 1999 for services to broadcasting and education.
