Camilla Hampshire

Camilla Hampshire

Camilla is Museums Manager at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery (RAMM).  She was appointed to this Exeter City Council role in April 2001 and since then has been focused on the Museum's redevelopment scheme.  This is her second experience of capital projects; her previous job was as Sheffield Galleries & Museums Trust's Project Officer for the Millennium Galleries.

In addition to these lottery funded projects, RAMM's membership of the South West Museums Renaissance Hub has provided Camilla with extensive experience of DCMS funded programmes, regional partnerships and wider sector working.

With a background as a curator, Camilla has worked in a wide range of museums and galleries: Aberdeen and Plymouth representing the geographical extremes of her career and Principal Keeper of the Ruskin Gallery and Ruskin Craft Gallery in Sheffield as the most central.  In these roles she has produced many different exhibitions (featuring historic collections as well as the work of practising artists) also audience development initiatives; an important strand of RAMM's work for which the Museum has received national recognition.

Camilla's wider cultural interests include acting as a trustee for Leisure East Devon and Dance in Devon.
