Wyllie Longmore

Wyllie Longmore

A Jamaican born resident of England since 1961, Wyllie trained at the Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama as an actor and teacher, and both these disciplines have informed his working life.

As a repertory theatre actor, he worked across the country and at the Royal National Theatre, and has also worked in film, television and radio. As a teacher he has worked in schools, with youth and community groups and in the drama department of the University of Manchester. For 11 and a half years he was Head of Acting at the Arden School of Theatre and he continues to work with actors in training, most recently at the Manchester Metropolitan University School of Theatre and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

In recent years he has worked with young and emerging writers as a director and dramaturge. In 2007 he retired as Chair from the Board of Contact Theatre after 10 years.
