Cllr Margaret Jackson
Margaret was elected to Allerdale Borough Council in 1999. She has held various responsibilities within the Council including Chair of the Scrutiny Committee.
For the last three years Margaret has been on the Council's Executive, and has held the Portfolio for Regeneration including Arts and Culture. She currently holds the Portfolio for Housing and Planning including Conservation and Heritage.
After leaving school Margaret went on to study at art college and she has since maintained a passionate interest in all aspects of the arts, acting as a member of a number of cultural bodies over the years.
Margaret strongly believes in encouraging everyone, especially children and young people, to have the opportunity to experience the arts in whatever form.
