Ross Smith
Ross Smith has worked as Head of Policy and Research at the North East Chamber of Commerce since May 2007. His role involves liaising with NECC's members to identify the public policy issues affecting businesses in the region, and representing these to key agencies and influencers. This includes developing NECC's annual Manifesto and managing NECC's major campaigns - including Buy North East and Go Global.
Prior to joining NECC he worked as a political journalist in Northern Ireland and the north east. From 2004 to 2007 he was Regional Affairs Correspondent at The Journal, responsible for coverage of political and regional development issues. He also managed the award-winning Go For Jobs campaign run in partnership between NECC and The Journal.
