Councillor John Kelly
Councillor Kelly is the Portfolio Holder for Safer City and Culture and as such provides leadership for Sunderland City Council and its partners in order to make Sunderland a safer city and to develop and promote cultural strategy and initiatives. He has lived in Washington for 49 years and has had the pleasure of representing the Washington North Ward since first being elected in May 2008. He was an active trade union member between 2002 - 2007 and has always had a strong interest in politics. In his spare time he enjoys restoring classic cars and has a lot of interest in anything cultural or historic.
