Councillor Eunice Huntington
Councillor Eunice Huntington is married with 3 children and 8 grandchildren, she lives in Shotton.
She has been a Parish Councillor for 35 years and a District Councillor for the former Easington District Council for 5 years where she held the position of executive Member for Health.
Prior to becoming a Councillor she worked within Social Services for over 20 years part of that time served was as a team manager. This work included generic application addressing all social needs for instance childcare, mental health, help for elderly. Eunice has a BA Degree in Sociology and World Politics.
Councillor Eunice Huntington has served on the new unitary, Durham County Council, since May 2008 and is Cabinet Member for Healthier Communities which covers a number of areas including; tackling health inequalities, health promotion activities, the provision of adult education, arts and culture, museums, library services, traveller liaison and communities of interest.
