Mick Gallagher
Mick Gallagher has had 32 years of local government experience including over 3 years as Chief Executive for Boston Borough Council and prior to that as a Cultural Services Director/Chief Officer, at Leicester, North Ayrshire, Kingston on Thames and Reading.
His career has now moved in a different direction, having recently established a new company working both independently and with other 'working partner' companies and individuals to provide a range of services to the public, private and voluntary sectors.
Mick's achievements include: created Regeneration Masterplan for Boston, established and chaired RDA funded Regeneration Company to deliver it; initiated Cultural Quarter in Leicester, creating the template for the cultural facilities now in place; in N Ayrshire, developed concept to completion, award winning Vikingar! visitor attraction and established award winning youth theatre; also at Boston, set up and later chaired its Local Strategic Partnership and led development of its first Community Cohesion Strategy; created and/or led many arts, cultural and regeneration projects in all local authorities worked.
Mick is a registered Associate of Solace Enterprises and the Local Government Employers and holds MSc and BA (Hons) degrees; FRSA and ISPAL and SOLACE memberships.
In addition he is a Governor of Boston FE College; Board Member of Cultivate and a Trustee of the Boston Stump Restoration Trust; has acted as a local govt adviser to Arts Council England's public value programme; was a Board Member of the former Regional Cultural Consortium, for 2 years chaired its CIPEM Board (performance improvement local authority cultural services in East Midlands); former Trustee of Blackfriars Arts Centre, Boston.
