Veronica Wadley is Chair of Arts Council, London and a member of Arts Council England.
She has had a distinguished career as a journalist, as Editor of the London Evening Standard from 2002-2009 and previously as Deputy Editor of the Daily Mail and the Daily Telegraph. During her seven years at the Standard, she was a champion of the arts and chaired the Evening Standard Theatre Awards and Film Awards.
She is a non-executive director of the Berkeley Group and an Independent Director of Times Newspapers Holdings. In the last three years she has become a Governor of the Yehudi Menuhin School, and a trustee of Northern Ballet and the Mayor of London’s Fund for Young Musicians. She also is a member of the GLA’s Music Education Steering Group and advises the Greenhouse Schools Project, a charity which provides sports programmes for teenagers in London from disadvantaged backgrounds.
She was appointed Senior Advisor to the Mayor of London (Team London, Volunteering, Charities and Sponsorship) in 2012.
