The arts are vital to the social, economic and cultural life of London.  Arts Council England, as the national development agency for the arts, plays a critical role in providing strategic support and investment in nurturing, developing and promoting the arts for the benefit of as many people as possible.

 

London Area Council Members

The London Area Council provides advice on arts policy and makes regional funding decisions. We are looking to appoint two dynamic arts advocates, both of which are Mayor of London appointments, and we would love to hear from you if you are:

 

·        Passionate and knowledgeable about the arts in London

·        An imaginative and strategic thinker

·        Committed to diversity in its broadest sense

·        Able to command respect within the arts constituency

·        Experienced in museums, education, children and young people

 

Members of the London Area Council serve on a voluntary basis – although expenses are paid – and must live or work in London.  We want to be as diverse as the city we represent and welcome applications from all backgrounds.
