Sheila Healy is Chair of Arts Council England South West. She has a distinguished career in both local and central government as a director and chief executive. As vice chair of the Ikon gallery she played a pivotal role in its relocation to a new gallery in central Birmingham and as chief executive of City Challenge she played a crucial role to the development of the New Walsall Art Gallery. While chief executive of Cornwall she had responsibility for leading the public/private partnerships securing significant investment for the creative industries, the Combined University of Cornwall and the development of the Tate St Ives gallery. She now works as an independent advisor with a focus on leadership, strategy and change management. She was Chair of Audiences Central (West Midlands) and served on the MLA Modernising Museums and the National Review of Libraries. She is also a trustee of the Kneehigh theatre group and a member on the Tate St Ives Advisory Council.
