Mick Gallagher

Freelance consultant

Mick has 32 years of local government experience, including more than three years as Chief Executive of Boston Borough Council. Prior to this, he was Cultural Services Director for a number of local authorities, including, Leicester and North Ayrshire.

Mick has extensive expertise in the creation and implementation of culturally led development schemes which act as a catalyst for regenerating deprived areas in cities and towns. He was instrumental in creating the Regeneration Masterplan for Boston and established and chaired a Regeneration Company to deliver it. He also initiated the Cultural Quarter in Leicester. In North Ayrshire he developed and delivered the award winning Vikingar! heritage visitor attraction.


Mick is a governor of Boston Further Education College, a board member of Cultivate and a Trustee of the Boston Stump Restoration.
