Chair of Wenlock Poetry Festival
Liz is a writer, poet and the Chair of Wenlock Poetry Festival. After training as a journalist, Liz worked on local and regional newspapers before joining the National Trust where she worked for more than 20 years before her retirement in 2010. In her last post at The National Trust she was Director for the West Midlands.
While working, Liz studied for an MBA and has recently completed a BA Honours degree with the Open University.
Liz is passionate about access to the arts especially for children and young people and communities in rural areas. She believes that school trips to the Royal Ballet and Royal Shakespeare Company introduced her to worlds of the imagination she would never have otherwise encountered. These trips sparked a lifelong interest which has influenced all her work.
