Robert Dufton is Senior Fellow at Cass Business School, City University, where he is conducting research and teaching at the Centre for Charity Effectiveness. Previously (2004-13) he was the director (CEO) of the Paul Hamlyn Foundation. one of the largest grant-making organisations in the UK, operating in the arts, education, social justice for disadvantaged young people, and in India. Previously he was: Director, The Rayne Foundation; Head of the National Heritage Memorial Fund and Deputy Director Operations, Heritage Lottery Fund; Programme Director, Association for Business Sponsorship of the Arts; Consultant AEA; and Senior Policy & Research Officer, Arts Council GB. He is Interim Chairman of the National Funding Scheme/DONATE, the new digital philanthropy charity for the cultural sector. He studied law at the University of Bristol. He worked as a solicitor in London and New York with Lovells. He has a Diploma in Management from Cass Business School.
