About the annual submission
Each year National portfolio organisations and Major partner museums in receipt of regular funding from Arts Council England (referred to as ‘Regularly funded organisations’ prior to 2012/13) are required to complete an annual submission as a condition of their funding. This submission collects data on organisation profile, staffing, financial statements, numbers of performances, exhibition days, film screenings and educational activities and known and estimated audiences for these activities. It also collects data on touring activities.
From 2008/09, the submission has been conducted online. In prior years the annual submission was completed as an Excel document.
The annual submission is used as a monitoring document, providing evidence of the use of Arts Council England's funding including reporting to Government and other key stakeholders; supporting our monitoring of the whole National Portfolio - a major strand of our funding - and informing Arts Council policies, aims and ambitions.
