Arts Council England is a principal funder of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad, the arts festival designed to give everyone in the UK a chance to be part of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games
As a result of our investment in the Cultural Olympiad, we hope to see three things:
- increased participation in the arts
- increased profile for our artists
- new partnerships and collaborations that strengthen the creative sector
To help achieve this, we are developing flagship projects across the country, Artists taking the lead and Unlimited, as well as regional events and festivals to help ensure that more people experience and are inspired by the arts in 2012.

If you have an event you'd like to form part of the Cultural Olympiad, you should contact your regional Creative Programmer, who works to ensure each part of the country is involved in the Cultural Olympiad.
You can also consider applying for the London 2012 Inspire Programme - a scheme for not-for-profit organisations to run programmes, events or activities which will form part of the Cultural Olympiad across the UK.
