BBC Play it again

Come and Play!

You might have caught the BBC series
Play it Again which ran in April / May and followed a different celebrity’s progress as they learned to play an instrument. If you did catch it you won’t have forgotten the sense of frustration, excitement, fear but above all accomplishment experienced by the likes of Jo Brand, Aled Jones and Frank Skinner as they got to grips not only with their instrument, but with a piece of music and then, ultimately, their performance.

Not wanting the celebs to be the only ones who have all the fun, the BBC are running events across the UK which you can go along to. Whether you’re an absolute beginner, a bit rusty, or perhaps you’re a guitarist who fancies having a go at singing, these events are great way to just give it a go. You’ll get the opportunity to rehearse and perform a piece of music with other people of all ages and abilities, ably guided by the BBC Concert Orchestra.

The Take it away team have been going along to lots of these events promoting the scheme and we can highly recommend them! If you would like to come along, visit the BBC’s website for more information
