Measuring quality across a range of art and culture organisations

Following two successful pilot projects, the Quality Metrics are now ready to be tested across a broader number of organisations.

In 2015/16, 150 National Portfolio Organisations and Major Partner Museums will have the opportunity to test the Quality Metrics over a minimum of three events, performances or exhibitions in a free nationwide test phase.

A group of 10 organisations will also be selected to develop and test a set of participatory and CYP metrics.

The Quality Metrics project is designed to complement the data organisations collect through Audience Finder. All NPOs and MPMs taking part in the Quality Metrics project will still be required to sign up to Audience Finder by 1 April 2016.

This free test phase of the Quality Metrics framework has been supported by the through a £300,000 direct grant to Counting What Counts ltd, the organisation that owns the Culture Counts platform.

Expressions of interest to the quality metrics trial are now closed

We are pleased to announce that 150 organisations signed up to take part in the trial in just four weeks, reflecting a diverse range of organisations in terms of artform, geography and size.

Thirty-eight applications were received from London, 58 from the North, 21 from the South East, 16 from the South West and 17 from the Midlands.

There are 14 dance organisations taking part in the trial, 43 theatre, 22 visual arts, 16 music, 12 museums, 37 combined arts and 6 literature.

A full list of participating organisations will be published shortly.

We will commission an independent evaluation of this project, which will inform our next steps.
