This pilot activity centred on three areas: Barking and Dagenham; Liverpool and Blackpool; and Birmingham. In each pilot area, the activity was led by a local partner – A New Direction in London, Curious Minds in the North West and Kids in Museums in Birmingham.
Across the three areas, more than 600 children and young people took part in a wide variety of activities. They played an active part in the creation of the programme of visits and workshops, working with some of the country’s most innovative and exciting cultural organisations in the process. Activities included a trip to the Royal Opera House, a performance by the Para orchestra at Birmingham’s Town Hall Symphony Hall and a visit to Blackpool’s Madame Tussauds.
