For anyone who has entered the Time Out competition to win an exclusive print by contemporary artist, Charles Avery, don't miss out on this opportunity to see even more of his work. Those of you who haven't entered, make sure you do now at www.timeout.com and get yourself along to the exhibition from the 23rd June too!
Ten major international artists, including Avery, Yayoi Kusama and Thomas Hirschhorn, amongst others, transform the Hayward's indoor galleries and outdoor sculpture terraces into sculptural environments, each of which represents an individual mindscape and the inner workings of the artist's imagination. Interior worlds of emotions, thoughts, memories and dreams collide with exterior reality, blurring the boundaries between inner and outer space in this fabulous new show.
The Hayward Gallery's 2009 summer exhibition continues the recent tradition of inviting high profile and up-and-coming artists from around the world to transform the Gallery's unique outdoor and indoor exhibition spaces.
Over the last few summers, with major successes such as Antony Gormley: Blind Light (2007) and Psycho Buildings: Artists Take On Architecture (2008), the Hayward Gallery has established itself as a leading venue for curated experiential exhibitions, tailored to the Gallery's unique spaces.
