26 Mar 2009
Friday 01 May 2009, 6.30pm - 8.00pm
Eastside Projects, 86 Heath Mill Lane,
Digbeth, Birmingham, B9 4AR
Are you going to be in the Birmingham area on the evening of Friday 01 May 2009? Do you fancy finding out how to become part of a group who collect and share contemporary art?
If so, why not get yourself along to an informal meeting to find out more about
The Collective Birmingham, with a view to considering joining the group.

The group will be part of a growing network of households who collect and share contemporary art together, backed by organisations including Arts Council England, New Contemporaries and the Contemporary Art Society.
The meeting is taking place at Eastside Projects where a private tour of the current exhibition, SCULPTURE SHOW, will be given by curators Gavin Wade and Ruth Claxton. The exhibition officially opens on the same evening (01 May 2009) so it is also an opportunity to gain exclusive access to the show, ahead of the private view!
The meeting is intended for interested parties to simply find out more, explore the pros and cons of collecting in a group, and to get any questions answered from established groups.
Through joint collecting and sharing ownership of art, money is saved, knowledge is transferred and the visual art journey becomes more of an engaging social experience. The scheme is already a success in London and Bristol, with established groups owning interesting and increasingly valuable art collections.
