Drawing 2009 at The Drawing Room offers the perfect opportunity to start or add to your collection by purchasing a unique work by established and emerging artists at an affordable price.

Over 200 international artists, both established and emerging, have donated an A4 drawing, made especially, in support of The Drawing Room programme and its non-profit activities.
Artists include: Peter Blake, Jake and Dinos Chapman, Douglas Gordon, Liam Gillick, Antony Gormley, Mona Hatoum, Gary Hume, Michael Landy, Peter Liversidge, Christopher Orr, Cornelia Parker, Peter Peri, Eva Rothschild, Thomas Scheibitz, Raqib Shaw, Mark Titchner, Gavin Turk, Cerith Wyn Evans, Martin Westwood and many more including former Turner Prize winners and nominees.

Drawings are on display for three weeks from 30th April 2009 and the exhibition culminates in an exciting auction event attracting new collectors, art curators, gallery directors, artists and others interested in contemporary art.
All works will be featured on The Drawing Room website from 30th April 2009. Bids, starting at £200, can be made by visiting the exhibition, on-line, phone or email and by attending the auction event on 20th May 2009.
The drawings are divided into 3 Lots that end as follows on the evening of 20 May 2009:
Lot 1 - all artists A - D. Bidding ends 19.30
Lot 2 - all artists E - M. Bidding ends 20.00
Lot 3 - all artists N - Z. Bidding ends 20.30
The Drawing Room was established in 2002 as a non-profit gallery to explore ideas around contemporary drawing and make them visible in the public domain. It commissions new work by national and international artists, often giving artists their first solo show in the UK, and tours exhibitions to museums and galleries throughout the UK.

The invitation cost of £5.00 entitles you to enter a raffle to win a £200 voucher to spend at the auction.
To apply for an invitation, simply email your name and address to ownart@artscouncil.org.uk quoting 'DRAWING 2009' in the subject field by 1st May 2009. The lucky winners will be picked at random and informed about the process for paying for their invitation, automatically entering you into the raffle.
