If you are an artist, project or an organisation in the North West that is part of the Cultural Olympiad, or you would like to show your support for projects and events in your local community across the summer, you can benefit from a range of easy-to-use digital and print tools that link to our marketing and communications campaign happening now across the region.
More about the campaign
We have worked with partners to deliver a targeted marketing and communications campaign in the North West, to raise awareness of the once in a lifetime opportunity the Cultural Olympiad presents to artists and audiences. To focus the campaign, we have identified four target audience groups from our Arts audiences: Insight 2011 research:
The campaign has included production of a what's on brochure featuring events happening throughout the summer across the region. We have targeted advertising in family and community publications, and distributed brochures at events and via 'what's on' racks in local communities, at key northern attractions, and tourist destinations. We are working with partners across the programme to continue to tell the story of the impact of arts and culture in and beyond our region.
You can help to spread the word about the campaign and join with us to ensure it gains high visibility across the North West especially for Urban arts eclectics and Traditional culture vultures, who will be active online. Use some, or all, of the tools in your communications with our target audiences. The tools are available for download below:

Our partners
Partners across the North West have come together to create a central portal for all things 2012 at: www.nwfor2012.com and we are working closely to continue to deliver fresh content on this site, promoting the Cultural Olympiad in our region.
As part of the site there is a campaign called the WE PLAY Challenge running to engage the region's public in London 2012 and encourage them to share their stories and photos online.
If you able to support the WE PLAY Challenge in your communications, there is a kit available by contacting: hcorbett@webershandwick.com or calling Weber Shandwick on: 0161 238 9400. The Arts Council tools are designed to work together with these promoting the regional website and the WE PLAY Challenge.
Work with us
If you receive funding from us you will know we always encourage you to work with us to campaign for arts and culture, by contributing to key promotional and publicity activities. This might include joint media relations work or providing us with images, text, audio and/or audio-visual materials that we can use to demonstrate artistic excellence and increase arts attendance and participation. If you would like to be involved further, please contact your regional communications team.
