Discovering Places is a 3-year campaign leading up to the Games, led by The Heritage Alliance, in partnership with organisations working in the historic, built and natural environments.
The Heritage Alliance is delivering Discovering Places as a UK-wide programme, which will give people the opportunity to discover, explore, be inspired by and benefit from our nation’s hidden gems – historic and contemporary buildings, public spaces and natural places in and around the cities, towns and villages where they live and work will be opened up and brought alive. This is about breaking new ground, exciting new audiences, and finding new ways to work together.
The Discovering Places Weekend 2010 (1-3 May) will launch the project and demonstrate the shape of things to come from the campaign.
