Arts Council has identified a lead individual in each regional office to provide advice to bidding cities

We can offer advice on a range of broad arts development issues including for example audience development, inclusion and diversity, engaging with hard to reach communities as well as offering advice on the arts and building effective partnerships with the arts sector. We can also draw on our experience of working with and supporting Liverpool as European Capital of Culture 2008.
We anticipate that we will be able to offer most support following the shortlisting stage. At this point we will be able offer specific support to individual bidders on how to strengthen and develop the arts elements of their plans and discuss the opportunities for accessing Arts Council England funded programmes - principally Grants for the arts.
Grants for the arts is our open access programme that supports arts initiatives and helps to widen audiences for the arts.
