Two Arts Council funded projects make finals of National Lottery Awards

mac Birmingham, and Northern Ballet and Phoenix Dance Theatre's new home in Leeds have made the finals of the National Lottery Awards.

Both projects, which received National Lottery funding through Arts Council England, were voted for by the public and join Razed Roof: Inclusion Through Practice and The Smiling Sessions in the finals for the Best Arts Project category.

mac in Birmingham, re-opened in May 2010 after a two-year £15 million building project, which has transformed the centre into an iconic, multi-purpose cultural complex.

Northern Ballet and Phoenix Dance Theatre launched their new world-class centre for dance in January. It is unique in uniting a major ballet and contemporary dance company, associated classical dance schools in the Northern Ballet Academy and Phoenix Youth Academy, as well as further and higher education dance students.
