Arts Council England, East Midlands is keen to support the development of Creative Producers in the region. In order to do this, Arts Council England wishes to offer grants for up to four producers as part of a one year professional development programme from September 09.
A bespoke programme of professional development will be offered to potential producers. This is likely to include some of the following:
o A skills audit and training needs analysis together with tailored relevant training and business support
o Access to a mentor
o Membership to an appropriate networking organisation
o Tickets to see performing arts product in the East Midlands
o Opportunity to develop regional/ national/ international collaborations
o Support in developing a Grants for the arts application
o An allowance of £15,000 per producer
How will the Independent Producers be selected?
The producers we are looking for will:
o have a track record as a producer or have relevant transferable experience
o have strong artistic ideas and the potential to see those within a wider landscape
o be confident and entrepreneurial with an ability to find solutions despite challenges
o have strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
o be able to work with a range of artists and stakeholders to realise their ideas
o have the ability to build support for their projects, including financial support from a range of sources
o not be an individual in receipt of RFO funding (this does not exclude individuals working for an RFO)
o be based in the East Midlands

o What are the outcomes we might expect from taking part in this programme?
o What skills would you like to develop?
o What kind of projects do you want to develop?
The deadline for proposals is 12 noon on 18 May. Short listing will take place on Wed 20 May and interviews will take place on Friday 22 May.
