South East organisation awarded funding from the Arts Council’s Strategic touring programme

Surrey-based Stopgap Dance is celebrating having secured £224,731 in the latest round of the Arts Council's Strategic touring programme.

The Arts Council's Strategic touring programme is designed give more people across England the opportunity to access great arts and culture in their own community and in areas that rely on touring for much of their arts provision.

Stopgap Dance (£224,731) will deliver Reach, a three year programme designed to build a sustainable touring network and raise the profile of integrated dance and disabled artists. The project will tour innovative, high quality work to engage with and inspire new and diverse audiences, particularly disabled people; this will be coupled with a comprehensive outreach programme to increase participation.

A total of 10 organisations were successful in Round 13 of the Arts Council's Strategic touring programme, securing a total of £2,073,178 to enable them to develop innovative and exciting touring projects that bring Great arts and culture to more people across England.
