BBC Concert Orchestra is looking for music groups of all kinds to take part in Music Nation on Sunday 4 March in Devon and Cornwall.
The Sound of the South West is a chance to contribute to a musical snapshot of Devon and Cornwall to celebrate the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2012.
From sunrise to sunset on Sunday 4 March 2012, the BBC Concert Orchestra, along with local participants will create a day-long, concert across Devon and Cornwall. The musical snapshot will be a chance to showcase what's happening in the area, and BBC Radio Devon and BBC Radio Cornwall will be broadcasting some of the events.
Music Nation: Sound of the South West is about celebrating the diverse musical life of Devon and Cornwall . Any type of musical event or activity from bell-ringers to brass bands; choirs to karaoke; folk fiddles to the local philharmonic can be part of the celebration. Events just need to be music-related and take place at any time of the day on Sunday 4 March 2012.

Devised and led by the BBC, and including performance by the six BBC performing groups, Music Nation is a partnership with Arts Council England, the Association of British Orchestras (ABO), British Association of Concert Halls (BACH), Orchestras Live, Making Music, Conservatoires UK and LOCOG to celebrate the richness, diversity and excellence of Britain's musical life.
Music Nation is taking place throughout the UK. As well as broadcasts of Sound of the South West on BBC Radio Cornwall and BBC Radio Devon, there will be broadcasts across other BBC local radio stations. BBC Radio 3, Music Nation's principal media partner, will broadcast live content throughout the weekend, with additional programming on Radio 2.
