Lee Broom is deadgood at Clerkenwell Design Week, 2011.
Our grants for the arts scheme, which distributes money from the National Lottery has supported leading British design company deadgood in commissioning product designer Lee Broom to develop a new collection which will be launched during Clerkenwell Design Week this month.
The collection forms part of the Deadgood commissions project in which four critically acclaimed British designers/studios are developing new collections of products to be exclusively developed and distributed under the Deadgood brand. The remaining three collaborations will be launched during the London Design Festival in September 2011.
Lee Broom's collection 'Parq Life', combines the traditional herringbone pattern of parquetry flooring with contemporary curves in furniture, Broom transforms this time-old technique into a splendid modern-day collection.
Lee Broom said, 'I have always been a supporter of British industry, it is the basis of a lot of my work so I was attracted to a collaboration with Deadgood as they too reflect these values and are truly an innovative and exciting company. I am delighted to be involved and excited to be part of the Clerkenwell Design week for the very first time.'
Elliot Brook, Deadgood Director said, 'This collection possess all the values that the Deadgood brand stands for including fun, excellence, precision, craftsmanship, taste and innovation and we're confident that it's going to be one of those ranges that people instantly fall for.'
