National Portfolio funded contemporary art space, Studio Voltaire, is opening a pop-up shop, House of Voltaire, in Mayfair from 21 November to 15 December 2012.
Drawing inspiration from famous contemporary art shops such as Keith Haring's Pop Shop and the Bloomsbury Group's Omega Workshops, it will raise funds for the studio's gallery and education programmes.
It will be housed in a converted Edwardian stable and will sell a range of original pieces at £1 to £20,000 by established and emerging artists and designers. These include Linder, Mark Titchner and Pablo Bronstein.
A number of 'happenings' and events will also be programmed to take place inside the shop.
Throughout the month, a roving cast of characters and familiar faces from the arts and fashion worlds will provide shop floor service including actor and writer James Franco and our National Council member Alice Rawsthorn.
Joe Scotland, Director, Studio Voltaire said: 'We are really excited to be opening a temporary outpost in the heart of Mayfair again. House of Voltaire is a wonderful opportunity to raise money for Studio Voltaire's artistic community and public programmes.'
