A life-size polar bear carved from ice has taken residence in Trafalgar Square to coincide with the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen. £14,936 of funding has supported sculptor Mark Coreth, who has created a bronze skeleton encased within a polar bear ice sculpture. This project aims to raise awareness of human impact on the eco-system.

£16,797 will contribute towards a three year artist in residency programme at Valentines Mansion, a new cultural facility in Redbridge. The programme will provide a platform for enhanced arts programming in the borough and will have a specific focus on visual arts and community engagement.

The Zamana Foundation have received a grant of £5,000. Funding will contribute towards providing high quality diverse musical opportunities for young people and families residing in Tower Hamlets. Participants will be mentored by professional muscians in order to help them to develop and progress their musical performance skills.
