A series of interactive and specifically themed conversations about the arts is taking place across Yorkshire, exploring the idea of a Black British canon of work.
Black British Perspectives is being organised by SABLELitMag, on behalf of Arts Council England, Yorkshire, and will examine the key issues facing Black people in the arts. It will look at the creative process involved, and the environment that is needed for creativity to flourish, as well as future development, excellence and innovation.
The series of conversations will be chaired by experts in their field, and guest participants are all high-profile practitioners within the arts. The topics include music, style, the stage, visual arts, literature and publishing.
