Economic impact studies for the arts – where to find advice

Many arts organisations are gathering evidence to demonstrate the value of the arts to local economies. Here are some sign posts to examples of economic impact studies. These resources might be useful in locating extra evidence:

The economic impact pages on the Audiences UK website includes standardised methods for calculating economic impact.

A new resource developed by the Culture and Sport Evidence Programme (CASE) holds over 5000 studies which documents the drivers, impact and value of culture and sport. Over 80 of these look at the economic impact of the arts. To access these studies visit the EPPI Centre database and enter the user name 'case' and the password 'case'. You can carry out a combined search using the keyword 'arts' and 'economic impact' as free text.
