Ceramicists, artists and designer makers have been selected to show and sell their work at the prestigious makers marquees at the Cockington Court Ceramics Festival on 10 and 11 May 2013.
The festival, which received Grants for the arts funding, will take in the full breadth of contemporary ceramics practice in the UK and will include craft stands, demonstrations, exhibitions and workshops.
An exciting outreach programme leading up to the festival offers 28 free workshops run by local artists for people from the local community and schools.
Visitors to the Festival will have the opportunity to buy direct and meet selected makers representing a wide variety of ceramic techniques. There will be opportunities to watch inspirational demonstrators, kiln firings, and attend workshops for all ages and abilities, plus lectures and master classes by the country's most exciting makers.
The two day ceramics festival is designed to increase awareness in the arts by bringing people closer to the artists and providing them with a first hand experience of the arts. The event will be a regional highlight and will reinforce Cockington Court's growing reputation as a regional cultural centre.
