Two hundred and twelve Bridgwater Carnival squibbers created a spectacle at the Battle for the Winds finale on Weymouth beach on Saturday 28 July.

This major outdoor performance attended by 11,000 people was part of the Cultural Olympiad and marked the start of the London 2012 sailing events in Weymouth.

This is the first time that the squibbing has taken place outside Bridgwater. Each of the participating members of Bridgwater Carnival held a giant firework aloft as they recreated their great annual carnival parade finale on the beach at Weymouth.
