A Danish violinist named as 'one of the three best fiddlers in the world' is performing throughout the region.

The Harald Haugaard Quartet is the third of three bands in the South West Baltic Roots tour. The tour was organised by the region's rural touring agencies which bring high quality professional performances and workshops to small rural communities at affordable prices through networks of local promoters.

International fiddle player Harald is performing with singer Helene Blum. Both musicians are several times winners of the Danish Music Awards and are two of Denmark's most exported musical names. Harald and Helene are joined on the tour by percussionist Sune Rahbek and guitarist Rasmus Zeeberg.

Harald is an inventive virtuoso fiddle player with a style which reflects contemporary Danish folk music deeply rooted in tradition. He has performed and taught all over the world, including the Royal Swedish Music Academy and the Royal Music Conservatory in Toronto.

As well as performing throughout the region, young people and musicians from local communities will be attending workshops to learn from Harald and the Quartet.
