Arts Council England has announced that 10 projects have been awarded grants totalling £1,630,706 in the seventh round of our Strategic touring programme.
The successful projects in round seven include a new touring consortium led by Battersea Arts Centre to promote and showcase new theatre in areas of low cultural engagement, and The Art Lending Library, a touring exhibition from which members of the public will be able to borrow artworks.

The Strategic touring programme is designed to develop audiences for the arts across England, particularly in areas where access to high quality work is limited. It also aims to establish new working partnerships between artists, producers, promoters and venues - those on both the supply and demand sides of touring.
We are investing £45 million of National Lottery funding in the programme over the period 2012-2015. This complements other initiatives we are leading to develop audiences for the arts, including The Space, our digital arts service with the BBC, and our Creative people and places fund.
We are currently accepting applications for Strategic touring grants. If you would like to apply, please visit our funding pages.
There are five further funding rounds in 2013. Visit our Key dates page for further information on when to apply to be considered for a particular round.
