Anil Ruia OBE : Chair
Anil Ruia is Chair of Arts Council England, North West. He is a company director who has a strong background in culture and sport in the north west, and in supporting the region through his business and skills experience. Currently a trustee of the National Museums, Liverpool, he was formerly Chair of the Commonwealth Film Festival, Director of M2002 Ltd (Commonwealth Games) and board member of the Northwest Cultural Consortium. In the business and skills area, he is a former board member of the Northwest Regional Skills Partnership, a board member of Northwest Development Agency, President of Manchester Chamber of Commerce and Vice Chair of Knowledge Capital, Manchester. He also serves as a governor of the University of Manchester and the Manchester Grammar School and has recently retired as a magistrate.
