Anjana Patel
Anjana became a Conservative Councillor for London Borough Of Harrow in 2002 and is the current Portfolio Holder responsible for Community and Culture. She has promoted the development of Community and Cultural events across the community including Under 1 Sky and is championing the improvement of cultural provision across Harrow.
For many years Anjana has been an active member of the community working as a governor and volunteer in both east and west London. At present she is a Governor at Vaughan School in west Harrow, a Trustee of Asian Foundation for Help and Harrow MENCAP.
Anjana is a member of a wide range of groups, boards and committees including: Commission for Racial Equality’s London Advisory Board; National Arts Council London Region; London Councils Culture, Tourism and 2012 Forum; Local Government Association’s Asylum & Refugee Task Group; London-wide Race Hate Crime Forum; Local Government Association High Ethnicity Authorities Special Interest Group. For over 30 years her professional career has been in banking working with Barclays.
