Urban cultural programme
The Urban Cultural Programme provided £19.5 million of National Lottery funding for cultural projects in 19 urban areas across the UK, including 14 in England.
The programme was a partnership between Arts Council England and the Millennium Commission. It built on the successful European Capital of Culture 2008 competition, run in 2003. Activities are taking place between 2004 and 2006. You can find out more, including a list of grants awarded, from the
