Following a report broadcast on Radio 4's Today programme on Tuesday 20 November 2012 discussing the impact of the Arts Council's work to achieve our mission of 'great art for everyone', we received a number of questions from our audience on Twitter.
We thought it would be useful to gather the answers to your questions in one place:
Answers to questions about the distribution of funding for dance
- for the latest full set of figures available (2011/12), Northern Ballet received 5.3% of our total dance investment, while English National Ballet received 12.9%
- we invest in the Royal Opera House for both its ballet and opera work, so it is classified as a combined arts organisation in our reporting. As a result, we are unable to provide individual figures for the Royal Ballet. However, for the Royal Opera House as a whole, our investment in it is 29.8% of our combined arts investment.
